Meeting with The Surrey Chief Constable – Tim De Meyer.

One of the main responsibilities of being High Sheriff is to support the Police and I was therefore delighted that my first meeting following my Installation was to meet with Tim De Meyer, Chief Constable of Surrey Police.

I had the pleasure of informing Tim that my two new police cadets, Imogen and Grace, had carried out their duties to perfection at my Installation Ceremony in Guildford Cathedral and I was also able to hand over a copy of the research paper I had commissioned on young people not in education, employment or training (“NEETs”) in Surrey. The report seeks to identify the different cohorts that make up the NEET population and outlines pathways to progress to alleviate some of the contributing factors for future young people. I look forward to working with Surrey Police over the coming year, in both developing those pathways and also to highlight the wonderful work the regular and volunteer police force carry in a multitude of different functions across the County.
